Head to college with help from Wendy's Heisman

College is expensive, it was expensive even when I went to community college years ago, and I can only imagine how expensive it will be when it comes time to ship off Boug and Lil' Buddy.

Wendy's Heisman program is available to apply for, to help you make sending your kids to college a bit easier on the wallet.

Is your child graduating in 2010? Have they maintained a B (3.0) G.P.A. during their high school years? Have they participated in one or more school sponsored extra curricular activities? These kids can apply for the Wendy's Heisman themselves or can be nominated by a school educator, guidance counselor or coach. This is a great way to let these exceptional students be recognized for all their hard work and efforts.

The way it works is that one male and one female from each high school will win the award and continue on in competition for state and national awards. Each National Winner receives a Wendy’s High School Heisman trophy, a Heisman patch, and a $10,000 monetary award for their High School. The two National Winners will also receive a $500 Wendy’s gift card.

The Twelve national finalists will then participate in Heisman Weekend festivities during an all-expenses-paid trip Dec. 11-13 to New York City. The Wendy's High School Heisman website will display the names of all applicants and individual school winners on 10/22/2009.

Another little perk? The first 41,100 applicants will receive a Wendy's gift card ranging from $5 to $50!
