Prayers are needed.....

I've gotten to know Sandra a little bit and she's needing your good thoughts and prayers right now. Kayla has leukemia and is in the hospital for testing, with the left side of her body numb as I type this.

Please say a prayer for Kayla.... Its not fair.

No one should have to go through this, adults or especially children. Please add Kayla to your prayers tonight, say an extra one, hug your loved ones a little bit tighter....

Oh my. I'll be thinking of her and her family. I can't imagine how they must be feeling. I usually work in the ER, but I've floated to chemo before, and it's just heartbreaking. I couldn't do it, and I've seen just about everything you can imagine and lots you don't want to. I hope the tests come back with some reassuring news regarding treatment options and effectiveness. I wish Sandra hope and strength now and in the coming months.

I will be sending prayers her way! When stuff like this hits children it just breaks my heart. One of my daycare kiddos that I have been keeping for over 5 1/2 years was diagnosed a few weeks ago with Stage 4-metastasized Neuroblastoma, and she also needs prayers. You can visit her page at www.caringbridge.org webpage AlexisHoward or I sometimes have update on my blog.

You know, I worked with a man whose son, about three years old at that time, had an incredibly rare form of leukemia. He had everything possible done - marrow transplants, experimental meds, you name it. I am thrilled to say that he is eight years in remission. Medicine has come a long way as far as leukemia goes these days.

Prayers on the way for little Kayla.
