Resolve to meet someone!!

One of the things on the list of New Years resolutions is to put myself out there a little more and meet some new people. As a single mom, its kind of hard to do the whole bar scene, so after being referred to match.com, I decided to join.

I'm happy with the search results, there are quite a few people in my area that I just might be interested in getting to know!

With Match, you can snag a 3 day free trial, and you'll be able to wink, email and search for your matches quickly and easily!!

Join the Body By Vi Challenge!! *giveaway*

The more women that I talk to, the more I hear the same New Years resolution each and every year. Lose weight. Get in shape. Tone up. Exercise more. Always hearing a body image or fitness related resolution. Of course, I'm an offender of that as well, and this year is no different. I'm in TWO weddings this year and am beginning to get back on the workout track myself.

Blakeley Smart reached out to me and wanted to share her experience with the Body By Vi Challenge with the readers here at A Couch With A View! Some people will be turned off right away that the Body By Vi Challenge uses shakes as nutrition, but Blakeley has assured me that she finds them to be delicious! There are kits to purchase once you set your 90 day goal. These kits fit lots of different goals, like the balance kit, the core kit, the transformation kit and more. (You could even capitalize on the freebie I posted earlier, combine the Body By Vi Challenge with a freebie membership to 24 Hour Fitness.)

The thing with Body By Vi, is that there are prizes to be won for participating in their Challenge. They offer over $25,000,000 every 90 days to participants who are using the Body By Vi system to drop their pounds. Prizes include products, dream vacations, and more!

Wanna win a sample pack of shakes and goodies from Blakeley and the Body By Vi Challenge? Leave a comment here with which kit you would purchase to join in on the Body By Vi Challenge! You can read more about the kits here. There will be 5 winners in this giveaway!!

Extra Entries??

This giveaway will accept entries until 11:59 pm on Sunday, February 12th. Winners will be drawn with random.org and emailed. Winner must reply within 48 hours to winning email or a new winner will be drawn. Please make sure that your email is accessible, whether in the comment or a blogger profile, cause if I cant contact you, how can you win?

This is a compensated giveaway featured to A Couch With A View readers. All information was provided to me by Blakeley Smart and the Body By Vi Challenge. Opinions derived are my own and not affected by compensation.

Sweet styles from Tea Collection

I swear there's a baby boom going on around me. I've had at least 3 friends have baby boys within the last year, and there are still a few girls that I know are pregnant right now. I've been to quite a few baby showers and had to send quite a few gifts out to the brand new little ones.

I keep my eyes peeled for trendy, adorable, classic, outfits for the youngin's in my life, both my children and the new babies that keep popping up. Unfortunately, I haven't had to buy any new baby girls clothes in a long time, and I really really want to!! I've been eyeballing some of the styles available from Tea Collection and I'm completely smitten!!

I love buying gifts that I know my friends will adore, and though the prices that are listed from the Tea Collection are slightly higher than I'm used to paying, its well worth it because of their quality of clothing. The style and design is broad reaching from around the world and I don't mind spending a little more for something beautiful, unique and not so "cookie-cutter" like from one of the mall stores.

Manilla - Free Online Account & Bill Organizer

What is Manilla? Manilla is a free web based service that helps consumers better manage all of their household accounts, including financial, utilities, subscriptions and travel rewards programs, in one secure place online. Under a single password, Manilla provides customers with an automated, organized view of all of their account information, text and/or email reminders to pay bills and unlimited storage of account documents that Manilla has seamlessly retrieved for the consumer.

Why is Manilla necessary? Most people have more than 20 different household accounts, including three to four credit cards, several travel and hotel rewards accounts, multiple magazine and newspaper subscriptions, plus cable, phone, and other assorted utility bills. In order to stay on top of all this, people have to manage daily incoming paper mail, an array of online usernames and passwords, and websites in order to access important account information and take action. Manilla seamlessly retrieves all your account information – current balances, previous payments, upcoming bills due – and stores it for you in one secure place. Most importantly, you need only one password to view, manage and organize it all.

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Manilla.

Too hard to do the right thing??

As a single mom of 2, I decided to go back to college and get a degree to make a better life for my children and myself. I started back in the fall of 2011 and its been nothing but insanity since because of financial aid.

I'm not looking for a hand out, but only what is entitled to me due to my life and my income. I jumped through hoops to get financial aid for last semester only to be told I had to reapply for another type of financial aid because I was only going part time. So to avoid that, I decided to go full time starting this month, and I'm getting smacked in the face again. They're telling me now that I won't get full time aid because of my acedemic record, because I went to the college from 2000-2001 and now I haven't completed 2/3rds of my attempted classes. Granted last semester I had a 4.0 GPA and its been TEN YEARS since the first time I went to school there.

I asked the person in the financial aid office why its so damn hard to do the right thing and make a better life, to get what should be given, and she had absolutely NOTHING to say to me. I don't think I've ever been so discouraged in my life. I don't even know what to do anymore. Be stuck as a bartender/waitress for the rest of my life? Working horrible hours and barely making ends meet? I just wanted to better myself, be a better mom, be able to give more to my kids and have more stability.

A new year...

I don't even know where I'm supposed to begin this post.

The weight is overwhelming.

Everyone always says that they're going to change so much when a new year rolls around. Whats the difference in one day? How can one day define what you're going to do with your life?

I feel lost.

I do a great job of putting on my happy face and pretending that everything is okay, but its not. Life is hard for anyone, but I don't wish everything that I've been through on anyone. Not even my worst enemy.
