Getting organized with help from Pretty Neat: Giveaway!!
Ever since downsizing from the 2+bedroom house, to my little apartment, organizing has been a huge stress in my life. I have more stuff than I know what to do with, I'm not a creative thinking when it comes to finding spots for all that stuff either. I've been inspired by some adorable and classy rooms that I've seen pictures of, but get too overwhelmed to attempt to try anything with my space.
When I was sent Pretty Neat: The buttoned up way to get organized & let go of perfection, I was hopeful. Hopeful that it would help me get in a direction for my space that I can accomplish and not feel frustrated while trying to accomplish! This book was written by Alicia Rockmore and Sarah Welch, who are the creators of buttoned up organizational products, so their word has such value to me.
Chapter 5 is MY chapter, and I've come to this realization. Eliminate Excuses. I'm constantly making excuses as to why I haven't tackled projects, but this chapter has helped open my eyes to get me to face my real reasons and quit screwing around! Other focuses in the book are tackling toy problems, clearing clutter, wrangling schedules and other ways to get yourself on track.

My laundry room and closet is such a mess! I spent over TWO hours this past weekend hanging up clothes in my closet, and it's still not as organized as I would like! I'm such a perfectionist and I tend to get caught up on little projects, rather than see the big picture. I would love to have this book!

My desk! It's covered with paper, paper, and more paper. I clean it and it comes right back again.

Ugh. Two spaces. The garage, and what we've termed 'the dangerous room:' the guest room.
