Perfect summer skin with eos!

Its that time of year... the capris come out... the skirts get rocked... the shorts get exposure. Tank tops show off bare arms and the sun gets to touch skin that's been hiding all winter long. There are certain beauty routines that happen much more often in the summer versus the winter, and I can only be talking about one thing really. Shaving. I despise it, but I can't head out in the cute sundresses that I've been looking forward to all winter long without doing it. Again this year, I've started out right by using my by far, favorite, shaving cream. Evolution of Smooth, aka EOS, has been my favorite since last summer.EOS is so ridiculously moisturizing that I can't help but keep using it, its loaded with aloe, oat, shea butter and antioxidant vitamins E and C. It doesn't foam like other shaving creams, and to describe it, it feels more like a lotion on the skin. Maybe that's another way its able to be so ultra moisturizing?? The fragrances available are just as lovely as is how well it works! You can choose from pomegranate raspberry, lavender jasmine, sensitive fragrance free, or the one I've been using lately, the vanilla bliss!

The other huge perk about EOS that I love, it comes in a soft-touch, plastic pump bottle. And with Earth day coming, this is one of those great small changes that I was talking about that you can do to help our environment. Its recyclable!

EOS is available at walmart, target, walgreens, rite aid and other major retailers.

Pamper your skin with Cures by Avance

I'm sure I'm not the only woman out there who has problematic skin, and find its to be the absolute worst thing about physical appearance. Some days, I look at myself and think I look like a teenager going through puberty. At the same time, I do have regular 28 (almost 29) year old woman skin, with dry spots and I even have some wrinkles starting to form, YUCK!!

Cures by Avance has an awesome line that works with skin conditions, instead of catering to different skin types. Their four step routine is easy to work into your schedule in order to make yourself feel better about your skin.

You start with their Gentle Cleansing Milk, which I was able to try out. The formula truly is that, gentle. I absolutely loved how it felt on my skin while using it, and how my skin felt afterwards. The next step is the Anti-Acne Mask, which is great for acne prone skin. The camphor extracts that it contains helps to purify the skin and decongest. After that, there's the Pore Balancing Moisturizer, that not only moisturizes, but adjusts the pH levels in the skin, as well as helps to release impurities. Last but not least, there's the Cures Age Defyer Eye, that helps promote collagen production around the eyes, and leaves them softer, smoother and less lined. I tried out the Defyer Eye cream as well, and I can admit that after a few uses, I did feel brighter eyed!

Cures is a line that I'm sure is going to be some of my "must haves." They did what they needed to do, and they made me feel like I was indulging myself into an awesome routine as well. The collection is available at the Cures by Avance website, as well as spas in your local area. Also, when you "like" the Cures Facebook page, you'll receive a special offer!!

Healthy eating with tomatoes! #HuntsHealth

Being a single mom of two, it makes mealtime hard sometimes. Lots of the recipes that I want to try are definitely not for my kids tastes, and Lil' Buddy is ridiculously picky. I have to search to decide on meals that are not only healthy but that these kids will eat, and that I will enjoy as well. Its hard at times, but with Boug being almost 7, and Bud being almost 3, I've had time to get a little bit of a handle on it.

When I make up recipes, pretty much 100% of the time, they're "dedicated" to my kids. They're kid friendly and yummy, and I'm happy to share them on my site with my readers. One day, I was in a complete bind for dinner, had no idea what I was making and hadn't been to the store in a bit so supplies on hand were limited. I came up with my meal and Boug quickly dubbed it "Quickie Mac," for obvious reasons.

1 box of macaroni and cheese mix, (with ingredients to prepare as specified)
1 cup frozen peas
1 can Hunt's Petite Diced Tomatoes, drained
1/2 lb ground beef

I simply boiled up the mac for the mac and cheese, adding in the frozen peas, and browned the beef while I waited for the macaroni to cook. Once the mac was done, I prepared it as specified, and also stirred in the can of diced tomatoes that had been drained. I stirred in the browned ground beef as well. Next thing I knew, the kids were DEVOURING it!!

I love to use tomatoes in my recipes because they're one of those things that I know I can count on the kids eating. I feel good about them because they're a "heart healthy" food. There's a great article that outlines the dietary guidelines for 2010 to help you make some better food choices. There's also another great article that details the health benefits of tomatoes, and maybe it can help you make some better choices for your families health, definitely worth taking a look at. I learned that tomatoes are good for your heart, low in calories, rich in potassium, fiber, and the antioxidant lycopene.

Do you use tomatoes in your recipes? Do you have some favorite recipes that use tomatoes? Care to share?? I'm always looking for great recipes that my family will love!!

Fun time with Caillou!

There are very few television programs that my Lil' Buddy loves, and Caillou is one of them. If you aren't familiar with Caillou, he's an inquisitive little 4 year old with a little sister and a cat, who learns about common things in day to day life.

There's a few new Caillou toys out now, and Bud was excited to receive the Caillou bath time vehicle and the Caillou classic doll. Bud has brought his bath time vehicle in the tub with him and had a blast playing with Caillou, his kitty Gilbert and the boat that they get to sail around on.

The Caillou classic doll has been by Buddy's side since we received it. He loves to cuddle him and bring him on car rides with us! I've had to give it a few wipe downs, since my Lil' Buddy thinks that he can feed Caillou the same snacks that he eats, and I'm happy to say that since he has a vinyl head, arms and feet, he's so easy to clean.

I love both of these toys for Bud cause they encourage him to use his imagination and play independently. Both of these toys are available at Toys R Us, toysrus.com, and you can also find the Caillou doll on amazon.com.
