Pink Together (giveaway)
With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, I wanted to put this post up towards the end of the month, in the hopes that it would keep people thinking about breast cancer awareness into the next month. Its something that should remain on our minds, and something that we should be taking steps to protect ourselves and our loved ones from. Doing self checks, mammograms and keeping it in the forefront is important.
The Pink Together site is a huge, and growing, community of breast cancer survivors and supporters, where people can compare stories, inspire each other, and spread encouragement in a tough time. You can head over and leave your own encouraging comment or inspiring story at Pink Together. Also, you can purchase breast cancer awareness products at the Shop Komen site as well, where 25% of the merchandise purchase price benefits Komen. General Mills is working closely with Pink Together and is donating money, up to $25,000, in addition to the $2 million they have already committed to Komen, when you share on the Pink Together website, or on the Pink Together facebook page.

I read Katies' story and it was very touching. There are several different stories. Katies' lost her Mother to cancer and walked for the cure.

The Pink Together logo and message inspires me because the big companies are finally understanding that it is less about raising money, and more about community support and outreach efforts.

I was inspired by the survivors stories. My Mom died of Breast Cancer when I was 19 years old, so this is a subject that is near and dear my heart.
